Other Ways to Help The Dougy Center this Holiday Season

There are so many ways to help grieving children and their families this holiday season - from donating through one of our Community Partnerships, to something as simple as dropping off a new Teddy Bear at The Dougy Center office.

The following is a list of additional ways you can help The Dougy Center today!

The 2nd Vital Human: Community Feldenkrais Clinic “Marathon” will take place December 15, 2013 from Noon to 5pm at Hipbone Studio, 1847 E Burnside. Pre-registration strongly suggested and your contribution of $15 per lesson will go directly to The Dougy Center.

• Beguiling Babes Contest
The fourth annual Beguiling Babes contest is a fundraiser for The Dougy Center. Your entry fee of $29 goes directly to Dougy Center programs.

Be sure to visit Amy Vining Photography for more information! Thank you Amy Vining Photography for your support.

• Charitable IRA Rollover
Are you taking a distribution from your Individual Retirement Account and paying taxes on it? Gift it to The Dougy Center instead to avoid paying tax on the distribution! The Tax Relief Act of 2012 reinstates the Charitable IRA Rollover that allows individuals age 70½ and older to make charitable donations of up to $100,000 without having to count the distribution as taxable income. Your Charitable IRA Rollover gift can be made directly to the grieving children and families at The Dougy Center by your IRA custodian.

*In order to insure strict compliance with the requirements of the law regarding the Charitable IRA Rollover, please consult your tax advisor.

• Peet’s Coffee and Tea
From December 17th to the 24th, add a donation to The Dougy Center to your purchase at the NE Broadway, SE Hawthorne, and Happy Valley stores. Donations up to $1,000 will be matched by Peet’s Coffee and Tea. The Downtown Portland location on SW Broadway will also participate and begin accepting donations Friday, November 29.

Thank you Peet’s for your incredible support!

• Teddy Bear Drive 2013 at The Dougy Center

The Dougy Center needs NEW stuffed animals to give to each child in our program during the holiday season. The annual holiday stuffed animal giveaway has been a long-standing Dougy Center tradition.

If you would like to contribute, please bring any new stuffed animals to 3909 SE 52nd Avenue (between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday) or call 503.775.5683 for more information.
