The Dougy Center for Grieving Children and Families
Through our National Center for Grieving Children and Families we provide support and training locally, nationally and internationally to individuals and organizations seeking to assist children in grief.
How You Can Help
How You Can Help
The outpouring of support since the fire has been heartwarming. Thank you to all who have sent such generous donations to help us continue our program and prepare to rebuild The Dougy Center. Although we have insurance coverage, it will not cover all the costs associated with continuing our program and rebuilding.
Here are ways you can help:
- Financial contributions are most welcome. Thanks to all who have offered teddy bears and other items for our kids, but we have no storage space for them now. Your dollar contributions are needed now. After we rebuild, we will welcome in-kind donations.
- Do a fundraiser for us! If you have a group or club that likes to do community service, we would be grateful to have you help The Dougy Center in this way. See the link below (Consignment Event) for an example of this wonderful kind of assistance.
- Participate in the upcoming events and activities listed below to help The Dougy Center:
- WEE-CYCLE CONSIGNMENT EVENT generated $360 for The Dougy Center. Look for information soon about their upcoming HOLIDAY SALE.
- The Dougy Center’s ANNUAL FALL EVENT will be a luncheon held on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Governor Hotel. Look for more information about this opportunity to learn more about The Dougy Center program.
- REFLECTION, The Dougy Center’ s Annual Benefit Dinner & Auction, raised over $350,000 through the generosity of our corporate sponsors, child sponsorship donors, contributors to the auction, attendance and purchases of auction items. WE EXTEND A HEARTY THANKS TO ALL. We also thank the many volunteers without whom we could not carry out the event. Next REFLECTION is May 8, 2010.
- The BOXSTER RAFFLE, in its 12th year, raised nearly $130,000.
