Program Director

The Dougy Center in Portland, Oregon is hiring a Program Director to lead our program team.

The Dougy Center provides support in a safe place where children, teens, young adults, and their families grieving a death can share their experiences. We provide support and training locally, nationally, and internationally to individuals and organizations seeking to assist children in grief.

The position is responsible for planning, management, and supervision of the support group program and program staff, and will be involved in direct service, as well as project management and implementation. Applicants must have substantive experience in personnel management and program development and oversight.

The Program Director will demonstrate enthusiasm, solid communication and leadership skills, a collaborative nature, and generosity of spirit. They are a member of the management team, and will oversee current programs and program capacity expansion, including group services for families who have experienced a death, and those with a family member with an advanced serious illness.

Applicants must have a Master’s degree or higher in a related field (child development, counseling, psychology, social work). Experience in bereavement services is a plus, respect and understanding of The Dougy Center’s mission is critical.
